Ms. Fielding was appointed Executive Vice President — Securities and Debt in February 2003 and Treasurer in January 2005. She is responsible for debt financing activities, including property debt and corporate financings and she oversees all Treasury, LIHTC and joint ventures for the company. Patti joined Aimco in February 1997 as Vice President-Tenders, Securities and Debt and was promoted to Senior Vice President-Securities and Debt in January 2000. Prior to joining Aimco, Patti was with Hanover Capital from 1996-1997 and from 1993-1995 she was Vice Chairman, Senior Vice President and Co-Founder of CapSource Funding Corp. Patti was a Group Vice President with Duff & Phelps Rating Company from 1987 to 1993 and a commercial real estate appraiser with American Appraisal for three years.

Carl Koelbel is President and CEO of Koelbel and Company where he carries on a three-generation tradition of real estate development in the Denver Metro area. His primary focus is directing the vision of the company into the mid-21st century, identifying new opportunities, managing company financial capacity and investments, and ensuring efficient and effective operations. Under his guidance the company has expanded its development and real estate platforms into affordable housing, co-working, industry specific workspaces, and value add acquisitions. He also manages and oversees the expansion of the Koelbel and Company’s traditional activities of home building, land development, as well and office and retail development. Carl is active in the community and currently sits on the boards of the Middle Income Housing Authority and the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce. Carl received his Masters of Business Administration with a concentration in Real Estate and Finance from the University of Colorado in Boulder. Before receiving his M.B.A. he was a Research Associate at the Urban Land Institute in Washington, D.C. At U.L.I. he assisted the Senior Resident Fellows in various research projects with a focus on infrastructure and its effect on land use patterns. He has a B.A. in Economics and International Relations from the University of Southern California and is an avid skier, golfer, and youth sports spectator (when his kids are playing). He is always thankful of the support of his wife Fallon and three children, Harper, Reagan, and Presley.

Doug is an expert in urban redevelopment having managed the origination, structuring, and execution of urban infill and environmentally complex real estate developments across the United States for nearly two decades. In Denver, Doug oversaw redevelopment of the former St. Anthony Central Hospital, a 19 acre TOD urban mixed use development and redevelopment of the ASARCO Globe Smelter; a challenging public private partnership and one of Denver area’s most significant remediation and urban redevelopment projects. He is an expert in public finance having originated more than $30 million in financings including tax increment financing agreements, metropolitan districts, HUD Section 108 loans, and federal and local grants. Currently Doug is developing a 7-acre Transit Oriented Development (TOD) project in Lakewood, Colorado, a mixed-use/mixed-income project on Sloans Lake in Denver, and serves as Owners Representative to the Master Developer of the Clear Creek Transit Village, a 21-acre mixed-use TOD site in Unincorporated Adams County, Colorado. Doug holds a B.S. in Environmental Health from the University of Georgia and an M.B.A. from the University of Colorado. Timothy Hoppin is a Director in the Affordable Housing Debt unit of Hunt Mortgage Group, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Hunt Companies. Mr. Hoppin focuses on originating affordable housing loans nationwide. He joined Hunt Mortgage Group from Citigroup Corporate and Investment Bank where he was a Vice President – Banking Team in the Municipal Securities Division of Citi Community Capital. While at Citi, he closed more than $300 million of taxable and tax-exempt debt for developers, non-profits and housing authorities. Prior to Citi, Mr. Hoppin managed commercial real estate acquisitions for Baceline Investments, LLC and served as a Vice President – underwriting at Newman & Associates, that was acquired by Citigroup Corporate and Investment Bank. Mr. Cope has over 15 years of experience in the multifamily industry, being responsible for the acquisition, asset management, and disposition of over $2 billion of apartments during that time. Prior to Sagebrush, Mr. Cope was the Vice President of Multifamily for Apartment Capital Solutions, the multifamily division of Real Capital Solutions, based out of Louisville, Colorado. Mr. Cope oversaw the strategic direction and execution of over $400M in assets, consisting of 12 properties with 3,400 apartment units, and an additional 6 properties and 1,000 units under development. He specializes in distressed and value-add opportunities including REOs, note purchases, and ground up or redevelopment throughout the US. Prior to his position at Real Capital Solutions, Mr. Cope worked for the multifamily REIT Apartment Investment and Management Company (AIMCO) based in Denver, Colorado. He was responsible for sourcing and closing transactions throughout the Eastern U.S., with concentration in high barrier-to-entry markets. Prior to joining AIMCO, Mr. Cope was Regional Property Supervisor for a large third-party management company that was later purchased by Riverstone Residential.

Mr. Williams is a Senior Vice President with KeyBank Real Estate Capital Markets in Denver, Colorado. He currently heads the multifamily loan production team for the Central (Texas/Rocky Mountain) and Southeast Regions for KeyBank. He manages a team which is responsible for all multifamily loan production in this region, with an emphasis on agency lending (Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and FHA), as well as life company placement and CMBS. Mr. Williams has 15 years of diversified real estate banking experience, with over 8 years of experience at KeyBank. Prior to his current assignment, he was responsible all permanent multifamily loan production for KeyBank’s Rocky Mountain based clients. Mr. Williams began his career with KeyBank as a balance sheet banker based at the firm’s Cleveland, Ohio headquarters. Prior to joining KeyBank, Mr. Williams was with Realty Funding Group L.L.C., a Denver based real estate acquisition and investment banking company. As a Senior Vice President with Walker & Dunlop, Ralph Lowen originates permanent and construction financing for both market rate and affordable multifamily properties. Mr. Lowen is a multifamily finance specialist with an emphasis on FHA/HUD, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Prior to joining Walker & Dunlop, Mr. Lowen was a principal at Prudential Mortgage Capital Company where he was responsible for financing over 10,000 multifamily units and producing over $650 million in commercial real estate loans. Consistently a top producer, Mr. Lowen spent 11 years with Prudential and held the previous titles of director and associate. A Colorado native, Mr. Lowen holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Business Administration from The University of Colorado at Boulder.

Mike Ballard is a partner at Ascent Multifamily Accounting and has worked in the real estate and accounting industries for almost 30 years. Early in Mike’s career, he worked in the Information Systems Consulting group for Laventhol & Horwath, CPAs. After Laventhol, he joined McGladrey & Pullen before starting his own consulting firm. At Ascent, Mike leads Ascent’s consulting practice, where he advises multifamily clients on strategic planning, process improvement, and tax credits. Mike was a founding member of the board of the Lied Institute for Real Estate Studies at University of Nevada, Las Vegas and also helped with the formation of the local National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP) and Construction Financial Management Association chapters. In 2010, Mike was named one of the “Top 20 Visionaries” in Nevada by Nevada Business magazine. Mike has served on the boards of several for-profit companies and not-for-profit organizations. He has helped start three banks and served on the board of Black Mountain Community Bank.

Scott is currently the Division President of the Mountain States/Southwest for Lennar’s Multifamily Apartment Division where he has been responsible for sourcing over $900 million of development since late-2012 in Denver and Phoenix and building a team of over 40 development, construction and property management professionals. With over 15 years of experience in multifamily, Scott previously served as the Managing Director of Mill Creek Residential Trust, where he sourced the development of over $100 million and established a successful development, construction and asset management platform in the Mountain States. He also was the Managing Director of Trammell Crow Residential and, along with his team, was responsible for the sourcing and development of over $500 million in luxury multifamily communities. Scott is a graduate of the University of Virginia (BA) and the University of Colorado (MBA).

Matt Joblon is a founding partner and serves as Chief Executive Officer for BMC Investments. Since 2010, BMC has acquired and managed over 8,000 multifamily units in metro Denver comprising an asset value just over $1 billion. Also in that time span BMC has developed or is in the process of developing over $500 million in projects, all in Cherry Creek. Some of the projects include market leaders such as the Steele Creek luxury apartment project and the new Halcyon Hotel. Through those projects, BMC has been instrumental in bringing world class retail and restaurant concepts to Cherry Creek including Matsuhisa, Quality Italian, Le Bilboquet, Soul Cycle, CB2 and Departure. BMC currently has over 200 employees and is growing at a fast pace. Lastly, BMC has another $500 million in development projects in the pipeline in Cherry Creek, Boulder and the Fitzsimmons Medical Campus, and is in the process of sourcing thousands of multifamily units outside of Denver. Paul is the President of Palisade Partners and has become a respected player in the multifamily market in Denver, Colorado. Currently, Palisade Partners is developing and co-developing three mixed use projects and a townhome project in the Five Points neighborhood, totaling $75 million. Mr. Books is also concurrently overseeing the development of Summit Sky Ranch, a 240-unit, high-end single family residential development in Summit County. Books recently completed an $9 million 27 unit for-sale town home project in Jefferson Park. In 2013, Books completed two new construction multifamily projects near downtown Denver for a combined investment of $20 million. In 2011, Books syndicated and gained financing for the purchases of four existing multifamily properties for a combined acquisition price of $5.4 million and a combined renovation budget of $1.8 million. Mr. Books graduated from the University of Denver: Daniels College of Business with a Masters of Science in Real Estate and Construction Management. Mr. Books received his bachelors of arts in Economics and Math with a Finance Sequence from Claremont McKenna College.

Zach is the CEO and co-founder Bristlecone Construction and is responsible for both the strategic direction of the business and client relationships. He has been working in the commercial construction industry for over 20 years and has continually executed on some of the most complicated projects in Colorado. Zach led Bristlecone from an upstart company to over $100m in annual revenue covering both general contracting services and multiple self-perform divisions.

Tom Wanberg specializes in the sale of apartment communities. His primary focus is representing private capital apartment owners in Colorado. Tom has spent more than 30 years serving clients as an Investment Services Specialist. Prior to joining Transwestern, Tom worked for Grubb & Ellis Company for 27 years. Through the years Tom has represented clients on a variety of investment properties, but his “sweet spot” has always been the sale of apartment properties.
