  Kris Gaw

  Previously, Kris Gaw joined Valleywise Health in March 2016 as Chief Operating Officer. Valleywise Health is Arizona’s only public health care system and Maricopa County’s largest training center of physicians, nurses and other health care professionals. Valleywise Health includes the Roosevelt Campus-Hospital, the Arizona Burn Center, the Arizona Children’s Center, a Level I Trauma Center, three behavioral health centers and a network of 13 neighborhood clinics that serve the entire county. Prior to joining Valleywise Health, Ms. Gaw served as Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer – Hospital Operations for Parkland Hospital and Health System in Dallas, Texas, one of the largest public health systems in the country. At Parkland, Ms. Gaw was responsible for overseeing daily hospital operations as well as system wide ancillary and support services. She served as Executive Lead for the successful movement of 626 patients from old Parkland into their new state of the art 2.1 million square foot facility. From 2008 to 2014, Ms. Gaw served as Chief Operating Officer at Renown Regional Medical Center, an 808-bed tertiary care facility and Level II Trauma Center in Reno, Nevada, that provides services that span over an 80,000 square mile radius from Sacramento to Salt Lake City. Renown Regional is home to the area’s only Children’s Hospital, with the region’s only children’s emergency room. From 2002 to 2008, Ms. Gaw was Vice President of Human Resources at Renown Health, northern Nevada’s largest integrated health network, with more than 6,000 employees. From 1995 to 2001, Ms. Gaw was Director of Customer Service for Hometown Health, the insurance division of Renown Health. Gaw received both a Bachelor’s and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. She is a member of American College of Healthcare Executives and is a certified lean professional. She also is the proud mom of a beautiful daughter who is a recent nursing school graduate.

  Passionate about healthcare from a young age, Mike brings over 25 years of experience at health systems and hospitals to his role as Executive Vice President of Healthcare at Ryan Companies. He is responsible for leading Ryan’s healthcare practice, comprising a growing national team of real estate and facilities specialists in programming, project management, facility management, development, construction, design and capital solutions. Having previously served as an executive for large health systems–successfully growing surgery, inpatient and outpatient services, with a focus on advancement towards system-leading practice–Mike understands our customers’ perspectives and the importance of guiding and consulting them on facility and real estate options to provide the most value-based and effective care for their patients. He is skilled in physician relationships, tactical and strategic planning, continuous improvement of health system operations and lean process principles, acting as an executive lead of strategy deployment, front line improvement and value stream mapping. Mike is motivated, driven and focused on elevating the collective team’s expertise to enhance value and profitability for our customers, while providing support and streamlined direction internally. His leadership style brings great value to both our internal team and our customers, allowing Ryan to more effectively partner with health systems and provider groups across the country.

  Rebecca Brennan

  Rebecca Brennan is an accomplished interior designer and founder of Design Studio Blue, a healthcare interior architectural design firm located in Denver, CO with a national portfolio. Rebecca has served as President of the American Academy of Healthcare Interior Designers as well as other executive-level volunteer boards. Her firm specialized in the design for acute, ambulatory, behavioral health, oncology, and pediatric care spaces. Over the course of her 27-year career, Rebecca has had the opportunity to provide award-winning designs for health systems across the country including the Mayo Clinic, New York Presbyterian, Banner Health, Children’s Hospital Colorado, Intermountain Health, UCHealth, Denver Health, and Universal Health Services. Rebecca’s vast experience has contributed to forming her well-rounded knowledge and skills in all aspects of interior design, furniture planning, art consulting, and branding. An area of special interest for Rebecca is working with healthcare leadership to create interior, furniture, and signage/wayfinding standardization to increase strong brand awareness and purchasing optimization.

  James Corbett is a seasoned healthcare executive bringing over a decade of c-level leadership experience. James has served as a Fellow at Harvard Medical School, Harvard’s Safra Center for Ethics and the Nashville Healthcare Council. In addition, he served a 4-year term on the National Institute of Health’s National Advisory Council for Nursing Research, having been honored to receive the appointment from former Health and Human Services Secretary, Kathleen Sebellius. He was recently appointed as an Expert Advisor to the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ). James’ experience comes from serving in four health systems, providing strategic and operational leadership for behavioral health, population health, research operations, global health, advocacy, and ethics. He speaks internationally and has provided keynotes at Harvard Medical School, John Hopkins University, Ohio State University and numerous other universities. James earned his Bachelor of Science in International Relations from Syracuse University, his Juris Doctorate from St. John’s University and a Master of Divinity from Duke University.

These attributes helped mold me into who I am and have a direct correlation with how I approach my business career. With over twenty years of real estate development experience that has spanned across many asset classes, I am passionate about my work in the healthcare industry and have cultivated many long-lasting relationships in the process.   Michael Renes, an Associate at Martin/Martin, Inc.   Cherie Dice, Health Principal and Health practice leader of HDR's Colorado studio, is an accomplished healthcare design professional with nearly 30 years of experience. With a background in interior design, and a WELL AP accreditation holder, she understands the importance of prioritizing environment and occupant wellness in the design process. Cherie’s design perspective is firmly rooted in patient-centered spaces or designing from the occupant’s perspective. As President-Elect of the Colorado chapter of the Association for Medical Facilities Professionals (AMFP), Cherie is deeply involved in the healthcare design community.
