  Jeff Vinik

  Jeff is the current owner of the Tampa Bay Lightning and Tampa Bay Storm. Vinik managed the Fidelity Magellan Fund from 1992 to 1996, where he averaged 17% annual returns. After leaving Fidelity, he started hedge fund Vinik Asset Management, with partners including Michael Gordon (now President of Fenway Sports Group). He made investors 93.8% in his first 11 months and approximately 50% a year for the next three years. At the end of 2000, Vinik returned investors $4.2 billion and focused on managing his own portfolio. Vinik and his partners closed down the fund in December 2013, and distributed $9Bn in assets. In 2010 he purchased a distressed Tampa Bay Lightning franchise with the stated intention of completely transforming the team on the ice and in the community. In executing his plan to bring a world class franchise to life in Tampa Bay, Vinik has invested more than $70 million in private funding into the publicly-owned Amalie Arena to create a guest-first facility recognized as one of the finest in the NHL. Additionally, under the umbrellas of the Vinik Family Foundation and the Lightning Foundation, Jeff and his wife Penny have invested more than $20 million in Tampa Bay area charities through a variety of programs and donations, the most notable being the Lightning Community Heroes program. The Lightning's success under Vinik has coincided with the emergence of a development company, Strategic Property Partners (SPP), LLC and its plan to develop nearly 60 acres in downtown Tampa's south core. SPP, a partnership between Vinik and Cascade Investment, LLC of Kirkland, Washington, is expecting to deliver approximately $3 billion in investment to reinvent the blocks surrounding Amalie Arena into a walkable 24-7 live, work play and stay wellness district. Construction of phase one is scheduled to begin in 2017 and it will include a School of Medicine for the University of South Florida, corporate office buildings, a hotel, residences, retail, restaurants, entertainment and improved infrastructure.

  Dan Doctoroff

  Dan Doctoroff is Chairman and CEO of Sidewalk Labs. Dan was President and Chief Executive Officer of Bloomberg L.P., the leading provider of news and information to the global financial community, until December 2014. During his tenure at Bloomberg, Dan led the company through the most severe financial crisis since the Great Depression by pursuing an aggressive strategy of investment, focused on enhancing the company’s core Terminal product, expanding into enterprise products and services, creating new businesses in government, law and energy, and building the company’s news operations, including its acquisition of Businessweek. During the seven years that he led the company, despite the financial crisis, Bloomberg’s organic revenues nearly doubled. Prior to joining Bloomberg L.P., Dan served as Deputy Mayor for Economic Development and Rebuilding for the City of New York. With Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg, Dan led the city’s dramatic economic resurgence, spearheading the effort to reverse New York’s fiscal crisis after 9/11 through a five-borough economic development strategy. This plan included the most ambitious land-use transformation in the city’s modern history; the rebuilding of the World Trade Center site; the largest affordable housing program ever launched by an American city; and the formation of new Central Business Districts and Industrial Business Zones. Dan also oversaw the creation of PlaNYC, New York’s pathbreaking sustainability plan. Before joining the Bloomberg administration, Dan was Managing Partner of the private equity investment firm Oak Hill Capital Partners. While at Oak Hill, Dan founded NYC2012, the organization that spearheaded efforts to bring the Olympic Games to the city. Dan serves on the Boards of the University of Chicago, World Resources Institute, United States Olympic Committee, Bloomberg Philanthropies and Human Rights First. He is the founder of Target ALS, which raises funds for and has established a new model of collaboration to advance ALS research. He is a founder and chairman of Culture Shed, an innovative new cultural institution at the Hudson Yards in Manhattan. Dan is a graduate of Harvard College and The Law School at the University of Chicago. A native of Michigan, Dan has lived in New York for the past 32 years with his wife, Alisa.   James Nozar joined Strategic Property Partners in March 2016 as Chief Executive Officer where he oversees all aspects of the business, including the design, entitlement, programming, construction and delivery of the planned mixed use development in southern downtown Tampa along the waterfront. Mr. Nozar joined SPP from The JBG Companies in Washington D.C. where he spent 10 years as a development manager and internal design and programming resource. He focused on the firm’s overall acquisition and development strategy, and was responsible for acquisition underwriting assumptions, the overall vision and conceptual program, entitlements and community outreach efforts, as well as the design process on dozens of real estate investments within the Washington, DC metro area.   Arturo Peña is a Vice President of Development at Related Group, overseeing a variety of developments across the firm’s portfolio.   Bob McDonaugh is the Administrator of Economic Opportunity.  He brings a wealth of public and private development experience to the position.   Vik Bhide

  Vik Bhide has over 16 years of research, consulting and local government experience. He is a subject matter expert in Smart Cities planning and deploying urban mobility solutions. He chairs the Hillsborough Metropolitan Planning Organization’s Intelligent Transportation Systems Committee and serves on the Board of the Intelligent Transportation Society of Florida.   Scott has more than 17 years of experience as a project manager and has worked on a variety of institutional, commercial, and residential projects. His experience includes permitting, general site layout, stormwater modeling and design, sanitary sewer and lift station design, potable water systems, off-site roadway design, and internal parking and roadway layout. As a project manager, Scott is responsible for providing clients with consulting services from initial conception through project development and completion.   Chris Eastman is a Project Executive for Suffolk’s Southeast region. Michael is actively engaged in the broader real estate community and regularly speaks before realtors, attorneys and businesses groups on commercial and residential real estate transactions, leasing issues, title matters, and ad valorem tax valuation challenges. He also volunteers his time holding positions with the City of Clearwater, Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church and the Bay Area Real Estate Council. The Clearwater City Council appointed Michael to the Community Development Board. In that capacity, he conducts design review, evaluates historic applications and reviews requests for land use plan changes and rezoning. The Board serves as Local Planning Agency to review and advise City Council on the City’s Comprehensive Plan. He previously served on the Code Enforcement Board. At his church, Michael has served in leadership roles and as general counsel since 1993 and most recently elected President of the community for 2017.

  Sol Salinas is the Global Leader of Accenture’s Smart Cities practice and a North America Sustainability Practice Leader. He is responsible for the development and maintenance of a global Smart Cities offering and alliances with global Internet of Things (IoT) providers. He is involved with and often directly oversees the work of multi-disciplinary teams supporting Accenture’s work in cities across North America and throughout the world. As part of this effort, he leads Accenture’s digital work for the City of Chicago, representing the company in a unique Public Private Partnership with the city and various other public and private entities committed to rapidly advancing smart city development. Prior to joining the firm, Sol was Founder and CEO of Blue Dot Environmental Consulting, a minority-owned small business specializing in strategic sustainability consulting. Sol is a corporate sustainability specialist with 22 years of experience in the field, 15 of which were spent in executive positions with the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Sol was one of the founders of US EPA’s ENERGY STAR program and managed its growth from 1991 to 2005. After completing a subsequent appointment as Assistant Office Director at EPA's Office of International Affairs, Sol left the federal service and eventually joined Accenture in February 2010 as part of Accenture's Strategy-Sustainability Services North America Senior Leadership team. Along with his Strategy experience and knowledge, his Sustainability functional knowledge includes strategic energy management, ENERGY STAR and LEED green buildings, renewable energy, carbon foot-printing, environmental metrics and reporting, and environmental marketing and branding.
