  Martiena Schneller

  Martiena Schneller joined Hoffman & Associates in 2012, and as Senior Vice President of Design, determines design and quality standards across the company’s portfolio and manages the retail development division. With over a decade of experience, Martiena utilizes her architectural and urban planning background to guide her development and construction management role. Across her time at Hoffman & Associates, Martiena has worked on several notable projects including all residential units, office buildings and entertainment venues at The Wharf. Beyond her work on The Wharf, Martiena managed the public-private partnership with Montgomery County in Bethesda for two residential projects: The Darcy and The Flats, along with The Bower, a 137-unit condominium at The Yards and The Banks, a 10-story apartment residence located in the Southwest DC. She is currently focused on the company’s expanding portfolio including Seaboard Station, West Falls and Parcel B at Audi Field. Prior to joining Hoffman & Associates, Martiena served in architectural and construction management roles at Lukemire Partnership, EE&K Architects and Wiencek & Associates. Across her career she has contributed to the community by volunteering her architectural skills to projects for Habitat for Humanity, Christmas In April DC and District of Columbia Building Industries Association Community Improvement. Martiena is a LEED® Accredited Professional. She graduated from Lehigh University with a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture and the University of Maryland with a Master of Architecture.

  Mike Susen

  Mike Susen is a Senior Director with Greystar in Charlotte, responsible for executing property management strategy in a portfolio consisting of ~14,500 units across 55 communities. Before joining Greystar, Mike was the Vice President of Asset Management for Terwilliger Pappas, creating a platform to oversee the operating and financial performance of approximately 3,000 units in the firm’s “Solis” communities across the Southeast. Before joining Terwilliger Pappas, Mike worked for Crescent Communities in asset management, overseeing a Sunbelt portfolio spanning from the Carolinas to Phoenix. He began his career in multifamily with Boston Capital in acquisitions and asset management. Mike has thirteen years of industry experience and earned his undergraduate degree from Clemson University and his Master of Science in Real Estate from the University of North Carolina – Charlotte’s Childress Klein School of Real Estate. He is a board member for both the Greater Charlotte Apartment Association and the North Carolina chapter of Shelters to Shutters.

  Justin has been a Territory Sales Manager with Advantage Sport & Fitness for over 11 years. He has a passion for fitness and enjoys working with professionals from a variety of industries to design fitness spaces that meet their specific needs and vision. He partners with clients in Multifamily, Active Aging, CRE, Corporate, Medical, Health Club, Public Agency and Recreation markets across South Carolina and Western North Carolina. Prior to joining Advantage, Justin worked in medical device sales, providing spinal implants to neurosurgeons and orthopedic spine surgeons. He also owned and operated his own personal training business in Charleston, SC. Justin has a bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training from the College of Charleston, as well as certifications in Athletic Training and Strength & Conditioning.   Marshall Farrell

  Marshall is responsible for development efforts in the Charlotte metropolitan region. Prior to joining Woodfield, he most recently served as Vice President of Development for Quarterra Multifamily (formerly known as LMC, a Lennar Company) and was responsible for all development activities in North Carolina. Before this role in Charlotte, he served in several development management roles in Quarterra’s Chicago and Atlanta offices, managing the development process for various multifamily and mixed-use product types. Marshall is a graduate of The Ohio State University and is an active member of the Urban Land Institute.

  Chad Askew

  Chad Askew is a graduate of Clemson University and received a Master of Architecture from Virginia Tech. With over 25 years of experience, Chad shares responsibility for marketing and client development at Housing Studio and has been with the firm for 20 years. He also oversees roughly half the projects in the studio at any given time and is heavily involved in the design of projects, insuring that projects meet the client’s needs and adhere to a high standard of design quality. Chad holds accreditations from USGBC and the Construction Science Institute, among others. He has served on the American Institute of Architects’ Housing & Community Development Knowledge Community Advisory Committee for the past 10 years and served a term on the Mecklenburg County Building Development Commission in Charlotte. Chad’s design and management experience with Housing Studio and other firms resulted in the creation of thousands of apartment units in dozens of apartments communities across the country. He has been involved in a wide range of construction types including wood frame, load-bearing masonry, wood-frame deck wrap, wood frame over podium, steel construction and post-tensioned concrete construction with steel stud infill. These projects span a range of multi-family residential product types including market rate housing, mixed-use, student housing, senior and active adult housing, affordable housing, and as range of urban and suburban housing typologies. This range of experience allows Chad and Housing Studio to counsel clients on a wide range of issues including site and amenity planning built around creating a sense of place and engagement, how to leverage a site’s natural attributes to maximize density in a cost effective manner and strategies for affordable construction techniques.

  Peet Poillon serves as Senior Advisor for NFP’s Property & Casualty group where he is responsible for managing client relationships throughout the southeast. His clients are primarily in the Commercial Real Estate, Construction, and Manufacturing industries. NFP has a large focus in the Commercial Real Estate landscape with a national practice that services owners, developers, and property management companies globally. In addition to Property and Casualty, NFP’s services include benefits, retirement, and wealth management. Prior to his career in the insurance industry, Peet coached collegiate lacrosse and played professionally. He currently volunteers with multiple lacrosse organizations in Charlotte and recently joined the board of the Greater Enrichment Program, centered around after school activities for at-risk elementary school aged kids.   Caci brings over 12 years of residential and commercial real estate experience to the Ascent team. She focuses on Asset Management throughout the entire asset lifecycle from the acquisition process, development or renovation, and operations through disposition. Prior to moving to Charlotte from New York City, Caci worked for LCOR, a large residential developer, owner and operator. At LCOR, Caci was responsible for overseeing over $500M of multifamily renovation and development projects. Before joining LCOR in 2010, Caci was a Senior Associate at AIG’s Investment Group (AIG Global Real Estate) focused on residential real estate acquisitions and asset management. Caci graduated from Brown University Magna Cum Laude with Honors and holds a master’s degree from Harvard University. Caci is a licensed real estate broker in North Carolina and New York. She is a LEED-certified professional and a member of ULI. She is an active supporter of several local charitable organizations focusing on opportunities for at-risk youth and the arts.

  Bill oversees development and land acquisitions activities for the Claremont Companies’ ongoing New England and East Coast market expansion. Bill brings over twenty years of multifamily and mixed-use real estate development experience to the Company. Bill has executed numerous developments across multiple product types from acquisitions and design through construction, marketing and lease up. Prior to joining Claremont, he oversaw the acquisitions and development for Toll Brothers Apartment Living’s New England Region. Bill was responsible for growing Toll’s apartment pipeline in the region from 249 units to over 2700 units, totaling approximately 1.6 billion in development during his seven years there. Projects included a 434-unit high rise in downtown Boston, MA, 525 units in West Cambridge, MA, and 390 units in Needham, MA. Prior to joining Toll Brothers Apartment Living in 2014, he worked at The Hanover Company and New England Construction. Bill holds a BA from Lafayette College in Easton, PA.

  Ryn Burns is a registered Architect with a passion for multifamily and mixed-use architecture, adaptive reuse, and sustainable design. Ryn is currently the director of FMGA's Multifamily Studio, working on projects throughout the US with a focus on the Mid-Atlantic and Midwest. He works across project teams to conceptualize and deliver effective, impactful, and inventive projects that enhance the communities they inhabit and optimize clients’ goals. Ryn is dedicated to partnering with municipalities to analyze creative opportunities to deliver needed affordable housing and generate innovative solutions for urban infill and adaptive reuse of sites and structures. His focus at FGMA has been on growth, while continuing an exemplary tradition of client service, building long lasting relationships for repeat business. Ryn holds a Master in Design Studies from the Harvard Graduate School of Design with a concentration in Critical Conservation and a Master of Architecture from Northeastern University. He also holds a B.A. in Architecture from Princeton University. Ryn’s academic and professional work has centered on the transformative redevelopment of existing building fabric, including adaptive reuse, historic preservation, urban infill, and deep energy retrofits.
