  Michael Barker

  Since founding Barker Pacific Group in 1983, Michael Barker has directed the development of over $3.5 billion in commercial projects. His active focus is the acquisition, development, and management of pre-leased residential and commercial projects. Over the past 49 years (since 1973), Mr. Barker has overseen the development of major projects in such cities as Los Angeles, San Francisco, Sacramento, San Diego, San Jose, Phoenix, Houston, Miami, and Fort Lauderdale. Before starting Barker Pacific Group in 1983, Mr. Barker was an officer at Hines Interests, where he headed up development of over four million square feet of office space in Tulsa, Houston, and San Antonio. He also co-founded the asset management firm, First Houston Trust Company, in 1970. From 1968 to 1970, he served as a lending officer in the Energy Department of Citibank, New York. Mr. Barker has served on the Board for the John Tracy Center, which serves hearing-impaired children, for the past 16 years, in which he was Chairman for 9 years. He continues to serve on the Board. He is an active member of the Urban Land Institute and Lambda Alpha International. Mr. Barker holds an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin and a BBA from Abilene Christian University.

  Ryan Lovett

  Ryan Lovett is an interdisciplinary architect, planner and urbanist dedicated to improving the built and natural environments. Ryan serves as Head of Design of the Americas at Lendlease, a global real estate development, construction and investment management company. Ryan works across the multi-billion dollar Lendlease portfolio, providing strategic planning and design expertise with an focus on innovation, sustainability, technology and placemaking. He has helped shape a number of next-generation mixed-use projects under development and construction, including 1 Java, an 850-unit residential development in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, Hayes Point, a mixed -use office and residential tower in downtown San Franicsco, 3401 South La Cienega, a 3.5 acre transit-oriented development in Culver City as well as 60 Guest Street, a 375,000 sf life science building in Boston, MA. Prior to joining Lendlease, Ryan was the Director of Urban Design & Development at SHoP Architects, the globally renowned architecture firm based in New York City, where he led the firm’s large-scale projects. During his tenure, Ryan deployed his background in design, planning, and real estate to become an emerging industry leader in the creation of innovative urban master plans. He managed the creation and adoption of a range of mixed-use projects from coast-to-coast across the US, including Rice University’s 3M SF, 16-acre Ion District in Houston, Tex and the 22-acre, 8.7M SF Schuylkill Yards master plan in Philadelphia. Ryan also contributed to the design of some of the most recognizable projects across the world, including the Collins Arch in Melbourne, Australia and 111 W 57th St in New York City. Prior to working at SHoP, Ryan established a reputation as an internationally recognized urbanist, where his independent work has been cited in such publications as the New York Times, LA Times, Architect’s Newspaper, Architecture Magazine, among other publications. He has also held a teaching fellowship at Columbia University, contributed to Autodesk’s BIM Curriculum, and was a member of the Columbia Building Intelligence Project. Ryan holds a Master of Architecture and Master of Science in Real Estate Development from the Columbia Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation where he received an Honor Award for Excellence in Design and the 2012 AIA Heritage Ball Scholarship. He also holds a B.A. in Architecture and Ecological Design with High Honors from the University of California Berkeley where he was awarded the Raymond L. Watson Prize and the Alpha Rho Chi award. He is a member of the American Planning Association, American Institute of Architects and Urban Land Institute.

  Danielle Friend

  Danielle Friend joined Harvest Properties as the Director of Architecture and Construction in June 2018. At Harvest, Danielle leverages her design and implementation expertise to evaluate acquisition targets as well as to develop the strategy for various asset repositioning efforts. Danielle’s responsibilities include developing and implementing project management processes and tools for the Operations and Asset Management Teams to ensure the optimal execution of capital and tenant improvement projects across the 11MM square foot portfolio. Prior to working at Harvest, Danielle spent eight years at JLL leading project management services for the Northwest Office Sector, overseeing 5 million+ square feet of capital and tenant improvement projects valued at over $250MM. Danielle earned her Master of Architecture degree from Pratt Institute. Prior to attending graduate school, she graduated with High Honors from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Originally from New York, Danielle and her husband moved to the Bay Area from Chicago 5 years ago and enjoying hiking in Marin with their dog, Reggie. Danielle and her family support various charitable organizations including the ASPCA, AIPAC, Equality California, and Venice Arts.

  Mike Baker

  Mike Baker serves as Director of Architecture for oWOW, a vertically integrated real estate development, architecture and construction company based in Oakland, CA. He is a licensed architect with over 15 years of experience in the architecture, engineering and construction industry. He has extensive experience in the multi-family sector and is a passionate advocate for making well designed housing more attainable. Mike is originally from New Jersey and relocated to the Bay Area from New York City in 2019 with his wife and their kitty Pepper. They spend their free time hiking and camping all across California (and beyond.) Mike received his Bachelor of Architecture from Carnegie Mellon University and his Master of Science in Advanced Architectural Design from Columbia University in the City of New York. Mike has served as a frequent guest critic at a number of universities, including Rhode Island School of Design, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Pratt University, The City College of New York & The City University of New York.

  As director of architecture for Clark Pacific, Mickey oversees all aspects of design and delivery on parking structures where he is the Architect of Record. Mickey’s experience in corporate campus architecture includes mixed-use developments, large scale industrial parks, regional shopping centers and parking structures contributes to the overall design strength of Clark Pacific’s team. Mickey is part of an integrated, collaborative team at Clark Pacific that includes in-house architects, engineers, builders, and prefabrication specialists who collectively bring owners a new choice in parking structure construction: Design-Manufacture-Build. With his extensive background in commercial development, design and project delivery, Mickey helps lead Clark Pacific’s integrated drive to deliver projects for owners that bring greater cost, schedule, and scope certainty than any other approach.

  Katy Mercer

  Katy Mercer has 17 years of experience practicing architecture and interior design both locally and internationally. As a Senior Interior Design Leader at the global architecture firm Woods Bagot, Katy has a strong sense of innovative concepts, strategic programming, cohesive stakeholder engagement, and advanced detailing. She is currently leading the design of a 400,000 sf workplace HQ in LA, where Woods Bagot has just opened a studio, for a confidential client. Katy’s expertise is particularly strong in the workplace interiors sector, where her clients number Dropbox, Google, HP, Twitter and TenCent. She is skilled at introducing influences from other sectors – transportation (SFO Harvey Milk Terminal), higher education (UC San Diego), hospitality and high-end residential -- to create meaningful and memorable experiences for the user. She received her Bachelors of Architecture from California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo. Publications include articles in Colorado Real Estate Journal and the San Francisco CREW magazine, and she has lectured widely.

  Kush Parekh

  Kush Parekh is a landscape architect and associate principal at Studio-MLA with more than 18 years of experience. His work is inspired by the complex relationships between socio-cultural factors and ecological systems in urban environments. Kush leads design and implementation of a wide range of high-profile projects, campuses, mixed use developments, and sports venues, including the 10-year redevelopment of Inglewood’s Hollywood Park Racetrack and its new SoFi Stadium, YouTube Theater, commercial offices, and retail, and associated public parks. Currently he is working on a tech project in San Jose and the new Lucas Museum of Narrative Art slated to open in Los Angeles in 2025.

  Clarence D. Mamuyac, Jr., FAIA, LEED AP BD+C, is President and CEO of ELS, which he joined in 1983. As a leading voice on design practices for community-focused projects in wellness, recreation and education, Clarence is known for working closely with clients on the development of outreach and consensus-building efforts that lead to robust design solutions. Clarence has spoken at conferences and in the media on topics in campus and sports design. A Fellow of the AIA and a past president of AIA East Bay, he is also a past board member of AIA California. He chaired the Dean's Advisory Council at UC Berkeley’s College of Environmental Design, from which he received a Master’s in Architecture with distinction and an undergraduate degree with majors in Architecture and Landscape Architecture.

  Jeffrey Heller

  Jeffrey Heller, FAIA is president and founder of Heller Manus Architects. Since its beginning in 1984, the firm has established a reputation for influencing architecture and urban design in the Bay Area, nationally and internationally. Jeffrey’s experience covers a broad range of professional endeavors. He is a leader in the profession and green movement with some of the first sustainable architecture and large scale urban planning projects in the US and China, including the first LEED Gold office towers in the sister cities of San Francisco and Shanghai, the first LEED Platinum neighborhood development master plan, a sustainable/livable master plan for Guangzhou’s North and South Axes, a sustainable urban plan proposal for Shanghai’s Yangpu Waterfront, and a sustainable urban plan for the city expansion area of Ulanhot, Inner Mongolia. His work in China often now involves land use implications for high speed rail. Jeffrey is a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects. He has been recipient of several awards and honors including AIA design awards and various professional organizations’ awards. He is particularly proud of receiving the National AIA Honor Award, ‘Citation for Excellence in Urban Design’. He has been guest lecturer and speaker at various academic and professional venues for more than 20 years. Prior to forming Heller Manus Architects, Jeffrey held various roles at well-known architecture firms including SOM, Gensler, and at KMD where he was partner.

  Phoebe Yee

  As Executive Vice President of Design for Related California, Ms. Yee leads the architecture and interior design for all market rate and mixed-income residential developments throughout California. She is responsible for the creative oversight and management of the planning, design and engineering of every market rate development, from concept and delivery to building opening. Her direct involvement in all aspects of the building process includes directing architects, interior designers and engineers through each phase of construction to ensure that the completed work is true to the project’s design intent. She is the conduit with sales/leasing and marketing, operations, and development executives, assuring informed design, constantly evolving processes, and seamless execution. Since joining Related in 2006, Ms. Yee has been directly responsible for the design oversight and completion of numerous developments, including The Avery, Mason on Mariposa and 1550 Mission in San Francisco, and The Century, The Seychelle, The Waverly, The Emerson, and Argyle House in Los Angeles. A registered architect and former vice president at international design firm, HKS Architects, Ms. Yee holds a Master in Architecture from the University of California, Los Angeles and a bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University. She is a recipient of the Asian Women in Business Corporate Leadership Award, former editor of the Dallas chapter American Institute of Architects newsletter, and served on the Urban Design Advisory Committee for the City of Dallas. Ms. Yee serves on the Boards of Trustees for Sci-Arc (Southern California Institute of Architecture) and the Beverly Willis Architecture Foundation. She is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and has been an invited speaker at AIA conferences, Urban Land Institute events, and housing symposium panels.

  Glenn Rescalvo FAIA is a Partner at Handel Architects and is based in San Francisco. He and oversees a large portion of the firm’s work, and has led the design for notable projects in cities around the world. Mr. Rescalvo's projects have received recognition locally, nationally, and internationally. Current work includes a variety of projects in San Francisco including Pier 70 Parcel K North, 1320 Washington Street, 321 Florida Street, 3333 California Street, and 955 Sansome Street. In Seattle, he is leading the design of 801 Blanchard Street, in Los Angeles he is leading the design for a new mixed-use complex at Angels Landing, and in Austin he is engaged in a number of projects including the new Four Seasons Private Residences at Lake Austin. Recently completed work in San Francisco includes Four Seasons Private Residences 706 Mission, Coterie Cathedral Hill, Serif and The Line Hotel, Union House, 950 Tennessee, 288 Pacific, The Pacific, and Murano. In Austin he recently completed the Proper Hotel and Residences, and in Los Angeles he completed Ten Thousand, a new luxury rental tower. International work includes the W Hotel in Santiago, a 31-story mixed-use complex in Santiago, Chile and the Rosewood Abu Dhabi, a 1.1 million sq. ft. luxury, hotel and residential development on the coast in Abu Dhabi in the UAE.   Christopher Glenn, PE, LEED GA, ENV SP, is an Associate with Langan Engineering, leading an environmental practice helping clients overcome environmental challenges that arise on brownfield, former military, closed landfill, dry cleaner, and chlorinated solvent impacted properties. He is an expert in the application of environmental remediation technologies and vapor intrusion mitigation design. Christopher also serves as Langan’s Sustainability Director, leading a team of dedicated employees improving the sustainability of the firm’s internal operations and promoting sustainable design on our engineering projects.
