  Todd Gooding

  Mr. Gooding has 34 years of commercial real estate experience, 27 of them with SKB where he is credited with developing the firm’s “value-add/opportunistic” acquisition platform. He was named a principal in 2002 and president and chief investment officer in 2006. During his tenure at SKB, Mr. Gooding initiated some $5.6 billion of acquisitions, and concomitant debt placements and restructuring, and he serves as a member of the SKB Investment Committee. He was also responsible for initially sourcing and maintaining SKB’s institutional capital partner relationships. He started his real estate career as a licensed real estate appraiser with then CB Commercial, Inc. Prior to joining SKB in 1996, he served as vice president of acquisitions for G.E. Capital Investment Advisors and senior real estate analyst with CB Commercial, Inc. in San Francisco. In these capacities, he underwrote over $500 million of commercial real estate investments for clients such as General Motors retirement funds, CalPers and the AT&T Master Pension Trust. Mr. Gooding is a member of ULI, ICSC, and an Advisory Board member for The Center of Securities Analysis at the University of Oregon. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in finance from the University of Oregon.

  Nick joined TMT Development in 2011with a background in commercial real estate finance and investment. During his tenure at TMT Development he has been involved in recapitalizing select assets in the portfolio and executing the financial strategy for the company. Prior to joining TMT Development, Nick was a senior analyst at HFF and was involved in closing over 50 transactions totaling more than $1 billion in capital invested along the west coast. Nick received his bachelor’s degree in finance from Montana State University (’04) and his MBA from Cornell University (’14). He also earned his CFA Charter in 2010 and currently serves on the board of directors for the CFA Society Portland.

  Evan Bernstein

  Recognized as one of the most influential commercial real estate executives in the country by both the Portland and National Business Journals, Evan brings the juice, passion and heart to the projects and people he works with every day. He is a Partner at Pacific NW Properties, a Beaverton-based commercial real estate development, investment and property management firm, where he oversees all acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, development site selection, and marketing, amongst other focus areas. Beyond his day-to-day responsibilities, Evan volunteers his time with numerous charitable organizations and sits on several boards, including NAIOP, Westside Economic Alliance and Revitalize Portland Coalition. He is currently the immediate Past President of NAIOP Oregon, the largest and most influential commercial real estate development organization in the USA. Under Evan’s leadership as President in 2022, NAIOP Oregon was honored with the two biggest awards in North America: “Chapter of the Year,” as well as “National President of the Year.” Prior to his transition to the ownership side of the business, Evan was an accomplished industrial broker who earned the SIOR “Industrial Deal of the Year” award in both 2008 and 2010, as well as the prestigious Commercial Association of Brokers (CAB) “Bill Naito Award” in 2012, presented to the broker in Portland/SW Washington who closed the most complex transaction of the year. In 2017, Evan was honored with Portland Business Journal’s coveted “Forty Under 40” top business executives honor, which is based on career, influence, leadership, and community involvement. In 2023, Evan was named “Executive of the Year” by the Portland Business Journal. A former radio show host who once tried to make Beyonce his fiancé with an on air proposal (she said no by the way), Evan doesn’t mind taking big risks … which has helped with PNWP’s speculative development and portfolio growth through strategic acquisitions. He lives in Portland with his beautiful wife and kids.

  James Idol is a Vice President, based in New York, where he leads GSAM PRE’s the mountain / pacific acquisitions efforts, as well as the Group’s sustainable investing / ESG initiatives. Previously, he was a mergers and acquisitions attorney in the New York office of Jones Day.   Larry brings over 15 years of economic development experience to GPI, most recently as Assistant Director of Economic Development for Cedar Park, Texas. While in Cedar Park, Larry helped attract the aerospace, advanced manufacturing, information technology and clean energy industries. These projects led to over 1,500 jobs and $85 million dollars of new capital investment in Cedar Park. Larry started his career with the Birmingham Regional Chamber of Commerce where he served as Director of Research and BRE for the 5-county Birmingham-Hoover MSA. Described by his peers as outgoing, perceptive and funny, Larry enjoys coffee, rock music and food trucks.

  Following the establishment of an innovative optometric rehabilitation practice in New York City, which included teaching and conducting research in vision restoration and rehabilitation techniques both nationally and abroad, Dr. Brad Malsin relocated to Portland in 1992 and founded Beam Development. Beam was founded as an innovative, creative, community-driven commercial real estate development company, with an early focus on adaptive reuse and neighborhood revitalization. Brad approaches development with a deep interest in historic preservation and a focus on community relationships, while providing innovative and flexible working and living spaces. Over the last 24 years, he has played an essential role in developing community-based projects and preserving some of Portland’s cherished historical buildings. Brad has been a leader in the development and transformation of Portland’s Central Eastside, where his company has focused for almost two decades on adaptive reuse, historical preservation, and more recently on dynamic, mixed-use new construction. Brad is the current president of the Central Eastside Industrial Council. In this role he works closely with public officials in matters of planning and development; supporting the health and wellbeing of Central Eastside businesses; and integrating the continued mixed-use growth while preserving the industrial authenticity and heritage of the Central Eastside. With over a dozen development projects in his portfolio, Brad is looking forward to using his experience and expertise to continue to create integrated, creative spaces in the Central Eastside.

  Over the past 15 years Sarah has worked in the Corporate Real Estate as both a service provider and end user. Starting her career as a Project Account Manager at a Boston based, women owned CRE project solutions firm, she quickly realized her passion for space planning and creating evolved employee environments. She transitioned to Fidelity Investments taking on large scale, fast paced projects where the goals weren’t only on timeline and budget, but employee experience. She led projects that focused on the future of work, including early adoption of flexible/unassigned work environments to large scale campus build outs throughout the New England & Tri-State area. Heading to the Northwest in 2012 she quickly took to Portland. Realizing it had the true potential to be one of the greatest cities for Workplace in the US. Since being here she has worked with teams and projects of all sizes, both nationally and internationally. Her main focus is to create a well-branded, high-functioning space that spoke not only the city it was in, but the specific departmental and employee needs as well. 4 years ago she found herself in Tech and was hooked. The fast pace and exploration of this field has allowed her to discover new ways to be creative from kick off to post-occupancy. She is invested heavily on inclusion, building community and fostering culture. She believes the workplace is always evolving and it is our roles as leaders to evolve with it.
