United Bank’s 15th annual United Cardinal Classic golf tournament raised over $200K for Washington, D.C.-area charities this year, bringing its 15-year fundraising total to upward of $5.6M.

The tournament, a philanthropic tradition started by Cardinal Bank in 2002, supports  Inova Kellar Center, which provides comprehensive mental health programs and outpatient services for children and young adults. Funds raised at the event also benefit nonprofit initiatives in education, healthcare, affordable housing, youth programs, economic vitality and financial literacy through the United Bank Community Fund.

The Country Club of Fairfax hosted this year’s golf tournament, which drew over 500 volunteers, donors and business partners, including Washington Wizards play-by-play announcer Steve Buckhantz and Inova Health System board of trustees Chairman Tony Nader. After morning and afternoon rounds of golf, participants enjoyed a dinner reception with a live and silent auction.

Inova Kellar Center provides mental health, substance abuse and special education programs. The center works with primary care physicians, mental health professionals, schools and others to evaluate, treat and provide continuing care for its patients.
