There has been talk about Silicon Valley, Seattle’s Eastside and New York’s tech corridor for years, but in the last decade, the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex has quietly acquired the fifth-largest tech labor force in North America. Even with 25 non-tech-related Fortune 500 companies making their homes in the area, 30% of DFW office space is now occupied by tech companies.

With an influx of technology companies, connectivity and wireless infrastructure will become a priority for office space in the DFW Metroplex. New office space is being constructed in Dallas at the third-highest rate nationwide, putting pressure on current building owners to measure up to the amenities that new offices have to offer, and for new office space to set itself apart from its competitors.

“By advancing greater transparency in digital infrastructure in commercial properties, WiredScore’s mission will strengthen Dallas’ ability to attract and retain businesses,” Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings said in a statement on the expansion.
