Industrious Launches Coworking Spaces In 4 Brightline Stations
Brightline has partnered with CBRE-owned coworking firm Industrious to offer flexible office space to its train stations from Miami to Orlando and a bookable train car for work on the go.
Industrious will operate small coworking or conference spaces in the private rail company's Miami, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach and Orlando stations, the firms announced Wednesday. The train car can hold up to 66 people for private meetings and events.
“Partnering with Industrious reflects our shared commitment to innovation and serving the modern business and leisure traveler,” said Barbara Drahl, senior vice president of marketing and commercial strategy at Brightline.
The office spaces at the stations will range from 210 to 652 SF and are open to both travelers and the public. The stations are located at 10705 Jeff Fuqua Blvd. in Orlando, 260 Quadrille Plaza Drive in West Palm Beach, 101 NW Second Ave. in Fort Lauderdale and 161 NW Sixth St. in Miami.
The goal is to turn transit downtime into productive time. The space at MiamiCentral station can be booked for $1,600 per day or $200 per hour, while the rates drop to $1,408 per day or $176 per hour in Orlando and $1,104 per day or $138 per hour at Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach, according to the Industrious listings.
Industrious, which CBRE Group acquired this year at an $800M valuation, operates two Miami locations — in Coconut Grove at 3390 Mary St. and in Brickell at 1111 Brickell Ave. — with space beginning at about $53 an hour, according to its website.
The partnership comes as Brightline continues to solidify its standing in South Florida, reporting a 40% year-over-year increase in long-distance ridership and adding 10 new railcars to its fleet in 2024, according to its website.
As hybrid work continues to evolve, demand for coworking spaces has steadily grown.
Coworking space in the U.S. increased by 2% in Q1, with Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., and Dallas leading the way with the most inventory, according to Coworking Cafe. Miami ranked 14th among the top 25 markets.
