Up-And-Coming Silicon Valley Tech Firm Moves To Sacramento

A Silicon Valley tech firm just moved northeast to the state’s capital. The Greater Sacramento Area Economic Council lured SupportPay out of Santa Clara to a 6k SF space in East Sacramento's The Cannery. The tech firm has the option to expand to 10k SF, reports the Silicon Valley Business Journal.

The Cannery’s developer, Mark Friedman, is looking toward high-tech firms to occupy the 50k SF mixed-use development. Fulcrum Property, manager and operator of the property, is in the process of leasing out the remaining 40k SF to several more tech firms.

SupportPay, which created an app to monitor child-related expenses and child support payments, has 13 on staff, but plans to expand its employee base to 300 in the next three years.

The Cannery is at Alhambra and Stockton in East Sacramento. A University of California Davis satellite office operating telemedicine also occupies the space. This lease marks the latest firm to move into Sacramento, which is experiencing a boom in interest. [SVBJ]
