FortBay wants to turn 10 acres in West San Jose at Stevens Creek and Lopina Way into an urban village.

The developer has proposed 500 apartments and 244k SF of office space in an area dominated by parking lots, reports the Silicon Valley Business Journal. While the plans are not concrete, the company wants to build two residential towers, an office building and a multi-story parking garage.

Urban villages are increasingly seen as urban development solutions by cities such as San Jose. The city has earmarked certain lots to host these projects and intends to fast-track them through the planning process. [SVBJ]
