Menlo Park Postpones Facebook Update

We told you this week Facebook opened the doors to its new 430k SF building, and now Menlo Park is calling a time-out for a few weeks on its land-use update. Last night, the city council asked staff to press pause on the next phase of the general-plan update process so that the city could do more outreach to residents, some of whom are just now finding out about the planning effort, reports the Silicon Valley Business Times. Council members and planning commissioners at the joint session were originally scheduled to provide direction to staff on a “preferred land-use alternative” for the city’s M2 industrial district, home to Facebook and Menlo Business Park.
