New Apartments On Site Of Ill-Fated McGuire In Belltown?

Placeholder

AvalonBay Communities is proposing a 24-story apartment development with perhaps 300 units at 210 Wall St in Seattle. The company bought the vacant site from Bentall Kennedy, which owned the property with the Carpenters Union Local 131.

The site was formerly the location of the McGuire apartment tower, only nine years old in 2010 when the city issued an order that it was no longer safe to occupy because of construction defects, after which it was taken down. As yet there's no timetable for the new development, the Puget Sound Business Journal reports.
