Developer Accused of Improper Lobbying in $6B East Bay Bid

Catellus Development Corp has accused Lennar Urban of improperly lobbying the City of Concord over development rights for a $6B mixed-use project. Concord may investigate the claims and has canceled Tuesday’s planned vote to name a developer.

Lennar and Catellus were named the finalists for the project at the site of the city’s former naval base. The project is one of the largest project sites in the Bay Area and is zoned for 12,000 housing units and more than 6M SF of commercial space.

Catellus outlined its accusations in a letter from its attorney to city manager Valeria Barone. Lennar has denied the accusations. [SFBT]
