Raiders Stadium Plan Comes Under Heavy Criticism

As the joint proposal to bring the San Diego Chargers and Oakland Raiders to LA heats up, the plan to keep the silver and black in the Bay Area has recently come under fire.

The plan is reportedly at odds with terms agreed upon in April because the team wants to keep all the stadium revenue, which it says is necessary for funding. Floyd Kephart, who the city handpicked to help keep the Raiders in town, has previously recommended the use of bonds backed mostly by stadium revenue to fill the $400M gap in financing for the proposed $900M stadium. This comes after assistant city administrator Claudia Cappio in April said there were ways to use public money to hold on to the Raiders without it coming out of the city’s general fund, even proposing selling land around the Coliseum.
