Changes Coming To San Francisco's Bayview District?

Placeholder

San Francisco’s Bayview district is next up on the list to experience appreciating home values and new residents from Silicon Valley. Its location and proximity to Silicon Valley; the construction of light rail down 3rd Street; a tech bus transit system; and new retail, including a Peets Coffee, have revealed many changes many longtime residents are dreading, KPIX 5 reports.

San Francisco Association of Realtors president Matt Fuller said Bayview is the last frontier of real estate in the city. Living in Bayview saves residents 30 minutes of commute time into Silicon Valley. Median home prices have risen to $750K from $360K in recent years.

Nearby waterfront projects will dramatically reshape the area with FivePoint behind the San Francisco Shipyard at Hunters Point, which will add upward of 12,000 housing units, and Build Inc. redeveloping India Basin into a community of 1,240 housing units.
