The Richman Group Development Surge Continues

Just a week after getting the green light on its F11 project, Richman is moving forward on a massive mixed-use tower just five blocks south.

Civic San Diego approved design plans for the company's 22-story, 226-unit mixed-use at 330 13th St—on the north side of K Street, between Park Boulevard and 13th Street in East Village. According to Civic San Diego documents, Richman's project also will include 9,200 SF of commercial space. The 99-unit F11 project at F Street between 11th Avenue and Park Boulevard will deliver in 2016, but no date has been set on the new tower.

Richman describes 330 13th as "retro-modern" in design. And it's situated on the east side of the site, which sets the mass of the tower away from the adjacent New Central Library's iconic Reading Room dome (here). Civic San Diego officials say this will help preserve views to and from the structure. Richman, a subsidiary of The Richman Group Development Co, one of the largest multifamily developers in the US, also has a 95-unit senior housing project in Fullerton and a 132-unit apartment community in Cerritos underway.
