Mission Accomplishments

San Diego

With its central access and a spate of planned commercial and residential projects, Mission Valley has the recipe for a live/work/shop environment on what used to be dairy farms and corn fields. (Throw in some wheat fields and you have the recipe for spoonbread.) Recently, at the ULI San Diego/Tijuana chapter's breakfast meeting at the University Club, Dealy Development's Perry Dealy moderated a panel on the future of Mission Valley. Voit Commercial's Paul Brown detailed plans to redevelop a portion of Riverwalk golf course and a major overhaul of the Mission Valley Inn, and Sudberry Properties' Marco Sessa talked about new residential coming to the company's Civita project. NewSchool of Architecture's Mike Stepner sounded a cautionary note: The Valley was designed around traffic, he said, which induced more traffic.
