Why a pic of Sea World? Because life is hard and sometimes we need to be cheered up. Oh, also, Chesapeake Lodging Trust just bought the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa and Marina, which features exclusive water taxi service to the aquatic park?s private VIP entrance, for $62M or $144k-plus per key. (Maybe the hotel execs were fed up with long lines.) The waterfront complex (1441 Quivira Rd) contains 429 rooms including 137 suites, plus 187 boat slips, full-service spa and three lagoon-shaped pools. This is the REIT's second high-quality San Diego hotel—last year, it bought the 210-room Hotel Indigo in the Gaslamp Quarter for $55.5M or $264k/key.
