JOE TERZI SAN DIEGO TOURISM

Since San Diego is one of the state'seconomic powerhouses, we've decided to hold an Economic & Real Estate Forecast May 1 at the Hyatt Regency La Jolla. Our all-star lineup includes a leader of the region's second-biggest industry: San Diego Tourism Authority president Joe Terzi. The org scored a major victory this week with renewal of a tourism marketing district, providing about $30M annually over the next five years. Other tourism priorities include boosting San Diego's international visitors--directflights from Tokyo began in December--and seeing the third phase of the Convention Center's expansion get under way next year. San Diego also gets buzz as a beer haven, with nearly 70 micro-breweries. "We're calling it beer tourism," Joe says. A cold one goes well with a great game of golf, like the hole-in-one that Joe made last summer on the fifth hole at Pebble Beach, above. Join us May 1 to learn what else is pumping up San Diego.
