Cohesity, a specialist in hyperconverged secondary storage, has opened its second major U.S. office in Raleigh. The office, occupying about 22K SF at 5511 Capital Center Drive, will be home to more than 100 employees across a range of functions, including sales and development.

The new office follows quickly on the heels of the December opening of Cohesity’s new HQ in San Jose. It also builds on the company's momentum in 2017, when it doubled its headcount and increased revenue by more than 600%.

Cohesity, which was founded in 2013 in Santa Clara, California, said the Raleigh office backs up its commitment to meet the surge in demand for its products.

Hyperconverged secondary storage platforms represent a place to consolidate a company's secondary data. According to Cohesity, about 80% of enterprise data consists of secondary data, such as backups, files, test/dev copies and analytics data, usually stored across a patchwork of backup servers, cloud gateways, storage filers and data lakes.

The company offers a data management platform designed to eliminate secondary storage silos by consolidating, or converging, all of it.

“The opening of Cohesity’s second major U.S. office in Raleigh underscores the rapid growth that we have seen in just a few years since we launched,” Cohesity President and Chief Operating Officer Rob Salmon said. “We will continue to expand our presence in the U.S. and abroad as more enterprises realize the value of hyperconverged secondary storage.”
