Theranos Testing Booted From Walgreens

Placeholder

Walgreens has ended its relationship with embattled unicorn Theranos and is closing all 40 of its Theranos testing centers across Arizona effective immediately. The decision comes after Theranos voided tens of thousands of test results and the company’s plan of correction was subsequently rejected by Medicare and Medicaid, according to the Phoenix Business Journal.

The erroneous results spanned over two years of testing with the company’s flagship machine, Edison, which failed accuracy tests in an inspection last fall. Walgreens had threatened to terminate the relationship in January if Theranos could not get back in line with federal regulations, the Wall Street Journal reported.
