Demand for Assisted Living Hotter Than Ever

The demand for memory-care senior housing in greater Philly is strong, and only going to get stronger, NAI Mertz SVP Jeff Licht tells us.

Recently Jeff, along with VP Adam Lashner, repped First Baptist Church of Huntingdon Valley in the sale of about 4.5 acres in Montgomery County to Artis Senior Living, which plans to develop a 72-bed assisted living facility that will specialize in the care of people suffering from various forms of dementia. Snapped: Adam, Comcast's Yvilde Courtin, Jeff, and his wife, Lisa.

It's actually the second time Jeff and Adam have been involved in the sale of the site. About 10 years ago, they repped the sellers to the church, which planned a 12k SF house of worship. That didn't materialize, Jeff says, but the memory-care development will serve the area in other ways. Artis, which has about 20 assisted living residences in development or under construction, plans to break ground on the new facility this summer.
