East Market's Second Residential Tower Gets Easy Green Light From CDR

National Real Estate Development's massive East Market mixed-use development has been approved for a second residential tower above its retail base.

The new addition, the West Tower at East Market, will add 240 apartments to the first tower's 322 units, and will also come with a garden terrace and amenity center. It passed Civic Design Review after BLT Architects principal Michael Prifti presented designs on Tuesday in "what might have been one of the shortest reviews ever," according to Curbed.

The building is slated to be certified at least LEED Silver, and will stand 22 stories above the retail space. The first tower has reportedly risen halfway to its full height, with the first retail spaces at East Market scheduled to open this fall. [Curbed]
