The Piazza and Liberties Walk at Schmidt's in Northern Liberties is on the cusp of a major revitalization, and to signify its new chapter, it has been rebranded as Schmidt's Commons.

In the Piazza at Schmidt's Commons, the six mixed-use buildings that surround the titular open space have been subject to lots of turnover since the complex opened in 2009. Kushner Cos, which bought the development from Bart Blatstein in 2013, has leased two floors of the old Schmidt's building (about 30k SF) to co-working company WeWork, and has signed Landmark Americana to a lease for a brewpub, according to the Philadelphia Business Journal.

An events manager has also been hired to organize programming for the outdoor space, which is scheduled to see new furniture as well. [PBJ]
