Four-Story, Mixed-Use Building Planned In Fishtown

Placeholder

Less than a block from both the Girard El stop and the corner of Frankford and Girard avenues in Fishtown, a four-story, mixed-use building has been planned on a 7k SF lot designed by JKRP Architects.

What was once a small daycare center with a sizable parking lot will become one floor of retail space with three floors of residential space above it, totaling 15 apartments. Five parking spaces are also planned, according to Naked Philly.

Situated on the southern edge of Fishtown, the immediate area surrounding Frankford and Girard already boasts several restaurants and retail spaces within a couple of blocks and more on the way, but not much residential density. With more projects of a slightly larger scale, the neighborhood is more likely to sustain that sort of commercial growth. [Naked]
