REITs are commanding higher rents and have lower vacanciesdespite anemic growth in the overall Philly economy. That's the assessment from JLL's latest research report on Philly's skyline, which examined more than 50 office buildings of 100k or more SF across the metro area. And REIT-owned buildings are leading the recovery charge. “In the latter half of 2011, building sales of Skyline properties and leasing decisions by large law firms are dictating the future direction of the market,” says JLL's Jennifer Lamprecht(seen here at one of our recent events with JLL's Matt Adams). The report says that the strongest-performing buildings are within the CBD, particularly the Market Street West submarket.
