Welcome to HAKS. In our 25th anniversary year, there is much to celebrate. It is hard to believe that this 650-person, full-service consulting firm began in 1991 as a two-person operation. We could not have reached this milestone without our skilled employees and our long-standing client relationships. We thank our employees for exemplifying HAKS’ commitment to excellence, and we thank our clients for their trust and for allowing us to be of service to them.
Headquartered in the heart of New York City’s Financial District, HAKS now maintains 15 branch offices—14 along the Eastern seaboard and one in Houston, TX—as well as international offices in India and Bahrain. Our multicultural and extremely talented workforce provides our clients with construction management/inspection, environmental, engineering design, architecture/facilities design, land surveying, material testing and special inspection services.
HAKS is involved in high-profile work that captures the attention of the industry and earns awards for engineering excellence. In 2016, the firm made the list of ENR’s Top 100 Pure Designers and ranked 131 on ENR’s Top 500 Design Firms. In 2015, we ranked 194 on Architectural Record’s Top 300 Architecture Firms, and was named “One of the Best Firms to Work for” by the Zweig Group. HAKS was also recently approved by SRI, an accredited registrar, as an ISO 9001:2008 company.
Our goal is always to improve the communities in which we live and work while at the same time enhancing social, economic and environmental conditions. We accomplish this by partnering with an ever-expanding client base to serve public agencies and authorities as well as private entities. Our award-winning portfolio encompasses transportation infrastructure—highways, tunnels, bridges, transit and commuter rail, aviation, and port and marine facilities; buildings and facilities—housing, schools, healthcare facilities, and parks and recreation; water and wastewater facilities; energy and utilities; security; and asset management.
As proud as we are of our project work, we are equally proud of the work we perform as a corporate citizen. HAKS gives deserving students the boost they need to become future engineers and architects, sponsors community events that celebrate our diverse heritage, mentors M/W/DBE firms, brings science and technology into the lives of public school students, and serves on the boards of industry and community associations.
