Video of the Week: Amateur Footage of the Dubai Tower Blaze
The fire that engulfed the Marina Torch tower in Dubai late last week fortunately claimed no lives and caused no major injuries. But the sight of the 1,105-foot-tall skyscraper aflame still shook viewers around the world. Above is civilian footage of the blaze, some of it caught with a bird's eye view from another "supertall" across the way. The exterior of the Marina Torch, which until 2012 was the world's tallest residential building, was charred from the 50th through top floors. Roughly 3K residents were evacuated to safety from the fire, which was reportedly caused by a grill on one of the tower's balconies.
