Haggen Closes Some OC Stores

Placeholder

Four of 11 Haggen stores in Orange County will close, and the fate of the others is uncertain. Two locations in Irvine, one in Mission Viejo and one in Tustin are being axed as part of 27 location closures by the Bellingham, WA-based grocer, including 16 in California. Most of the stores being closed were acquired by Haggen as part of the deal in which Albertsons and Safeway divested 146 stores, reports the Orange County Register. The closures will be within the next two months. [OCR]
