Luxury Apartments Get Thumbs Up From City Of Irvine

Irvine has just voted in favor of a new multifamily project, known as Trilogy, that would consist of 876 apartments at the corner of Martin and Campus Drive.

Eighty-nine of the units, which would range from 595 SF studio units to 1,540 SF three-bedroom apartments, would be used for affordable housing.

There will also be a three-story fitness center, a clubhouse with co-working space and an art gallery on the property, the Orange County Register reports. Two parking garages will have rooftop decks with pools, a bowling alley, fireplaces and lounge furniture.

A retail building with a café, a market and a hair salon and a public park with a dog park and a playground are also part of the design.

While Irvine's Planning Commission unanimously approved the project last Thursday, not all residents are applauding the move, with increased traffic cited as one concern. [OCR]
