JPI is planning to soon begin construction on a $364M, 1,079-unit Platinum Triangle project, Jefferson Stadium Park, which is across the street from Angel Stadium.

JPI plans to develop the 1,079-unit project in three phases, with Phase 1 opening in 2018. The project also call for nearly 10k SF of retail and a 1.1-acre park.

This site was originally owned by Prologis, which had it entitled in 2007 for a mixed-use project with 1,208 apartments, 100k SF of office and 50k SF of retail, according to the OC Register. Plans were abandoned when the economy took a dive. JPI also purchased a 7.6-acre site in the Platinum Triangle from BEX Portfolio for $24M and is underway on a $119M, mid-rise apartment there. Called Jefferson Platinum Triangle, the 400-unit luxury apartment complex at 1781 S Campton Ave and 1551 E Wright Circle is scheduled for completion in fall 2016.

Located in Anaheim’s urban core, the 820-acre Platinum Triangle, which extends from the ARTIC transit station to the I-5 Freeway, is the hottest development area in Anaheim right now, with $1B in commercial and residential development to take place over the next decade. The district’s population is expected to reach 28,000. [OCR]
