The initial work is underway for the Depot at Santiago, which will be built on the proposed OC Streetcar line across the street from the Santa Ana Regional Transportation Center and at the corner of Santa Ana Boulevard and Santiago Avenue.

The project is being developed by C&C Development and Orange Housing Development Corp, along with the City of Santa Ana.

The 70-unit Depot at Santiago is designed for working families with incomes ranging from 30% to 60% of the area median income and those who have disabilities and special needs, according to GlobeSt.

Funding is being provided by the Mental Health Services Act under the auspices of Orange County.

The development will include around 8,500 SF of ground-level retail space with the retail building, including an outdoor plaza.

There will also be 14 one-bedroom, 29 two-bedroom and 27 three-bedroom apartments with a 3k SF community room, a barbecue pavilion and a demonstration kitchen. [GS]
