Fight Night!

Last night we stopped by both the 25th annual Fight Night and Knock Out Abuse.

At the Washington Hilton for Fight Night, we found celebrity chef Jose Andrés with Fight for Children chairman Caps/Wizards/Mystics co-owner Raul Fernandez. The evening raised a record $4.7M, hitting $50M for its 25 year total.

Nova Hospital’s Dean Morehouse joins Children’s National’s Dr. Kurt Newman and Tonya Kinlow with Brock Developments’ Stanley Brock. Guests enjoyed a fantastic open bar with amazing crab cake appetizers.

Here, Orbital Science‘s David Broome joins Bentley Aston Martin’s Jim Walker with Under Armour founder Kevin Plank and Harrison Street’s Christopher Merrill. Under Armour has been the presenting sponsor for years.

The match was full of surprises, including famous boxing announcer Michael Buffer (“Lets get ready to rumble!”) and two World Boxing Council fights that determined world titles. Here, Creative Artists Agency’s Greg Luckman, Jeff Filiberto and Jon Levine.

Shaffer and Associates’ Jim Shaffer flanked by Alcade and Fay partner Tatanya Szeliga and American Red Cross’ Dale Koepenick.

Capital Sports Ventures’ Chris Browne, UAE Embassy’s Kyle Hendrick and Federated IT’s Katie Alber.

Venture Philanthropy Partner’s Bob Hisaoka and Abdo Development president and CEO Jim Abdo ringside. Dinner consisted of an incredible selection of charcuterie, including amazing applewood smoked bacon sticks with a huge cowboy steak.

Founded by the late Joe Robert, Fight Night raises education funds for children in need. Here, producer Chris Tavlarides, Georgetown Basketball head coach John Thompson III, DCPS Chancellor Kaya Henderson, Kiswe Mobile’s Jimmy Lynn, Fight for Children CEO Michela English and Kastle Systems’ Mark Ein.
