British Invasion!

We went to The Washington Ballet's British Invasion at The Kennedy Center’s Eisenhower Theater on Sunday. Here, dancers Chong Sun, Andile Ndlovu, Jonathan Jordan, and Jared Nelson.

The performance was a thrilling all-British journey featuring two rock ballets: Trey McIntyre’s A Day in the Life set to the music of The Beatles and Christopher Bruce’s Rooster set to the driving sound of The Rolling Stones. We snapped Alice Ahlerich, Blank Rome’s Marianne Caulfield, and Linda Cole.

The program also featured Christopher Wheeldon’s There Where She Loved set to music of Kurt Weill and Frederic Chopin. Here, artist Fabiano Amin, who will have a solo show at Q Street Fine Art April 4, with Aglaia Benni.

The performance consisted of three sets: a tribute to the Stones; a terrific technical display of athletic pieces from TWB; and lovely Beatles melodies. Here, dentist Marlene Saint-Phard Shaw, Carmen Liebeler, Stroud Communications’ Kandie Stroud, choreographer Aaron Jackson, and Heather Hughes.

Alfredo Flores contributed to this issue.
