The big real estate issue for firms can boil down to: renew or move? Reed Smith's DC office chose to renew at 1301 K St and take on a total overhaul. (It's also getting more fitness-focused, with new desks for every office able to raise up to chest height. Olivia demonstrated one desk on the move here. Get ready for standing desks—or maybe even treadmill desks?) While law firms generally stick to leasing, Olivia tells us that for associations that can buy, the numbers are still very attractive.
