Polsinelli is picking up 44 attorneys from IP boutique Novak Druce.

The move makes Polsinelli's IP's practice one of the country's largest, says the firm, with more than 120 attorneys. The group is chaired by Pat Woolley, who tells us the Novak Druce lawyers bring strengths including engineering and post grant practice, which add to Polsinelli's strengths in biotech, pharma and IP litigation. In the meantime, Hatch-Waxman cases have been keeping his practice busy, Pat says.

Novak Druce's office was at 300 New Jersey Ave, above. The lawyers moving in DC will head to Polsinelli's 1401 Eye St space.

The 44 attorneys include 27 partners and of counsel. Polsinelli has more than 775 lawyers between 19 offices—which includes two newly added offices in Houston and Boston. Those offices bring its total of new employees to 75.

Novak Druce name partners Greg Novak (above) and Tracy Druce, are among those joining Polsinelli. Greg left Howrey in 2005 with five other attorneys to found Novak Druce; the firm merged with Connolly Bove in 2012.

Polsinelli has risen by more than 100 spots in AmLaw's rankings over the last six years, according to AmLaw. In 2015, its revenue increased by 11.4% to $410M and profits per partner jumped by 12.5%. Last year, the firm also welcomed former Patton Boggs managing partner Stuart Pape to its DC office.
