Fans of the beautiful architecture around the District can take their own virtual walking tour thanks to these avid shutterbugs. Curbed has shared a list of must-follow Instagram accounts that keep a close eye on the architecture of the city.
Among the accounts that will quickly become your favorites are GodlyLenses, which describes itself as “Capturing DC one day at a time.” The Instagram account of the Architect of the Capitol, USCapitol, also gets a mention and currently features some great shots of the leaves changing across the Capitol campus. Their account description reads: “Stewards of the iconic buildings and grounds of Capitol Hill since 1793.”
Other accounts included on the list feature some great images of iconic buildings and the newer, curvy glass and stone towers that dot the landscape. With all the photogenic architectural wonders around the city both old and new, it’s little wonder that architects from the DC office of Perkins+Will recently won the company’s annual design competition.
