On Monday, the former Bullets big man (and star of Academy Award-snub My Giant with Billy Crystal) served as MC of a 3-on-3 basketball tournament at the Tysons Metro Center office complex owned by Beacon Capital Partners, who just installed a sport court (the only one in Tysons) as part of a new amenity package. Eight broker teams competed, and Gheorghe was snapped with the champs from Newmark Grubb Knight Frank: Andrew Roberts, Brian O'Shaughnessy, and Doug Gallagher. (For the record, CBRE was runner up, and tourney co-sponsor Cassidy Turley came in third.) The Cassidy folks tell us they're hoping to turn it into an annual event, and are beaming after Alarm.com's recent 80,000 SF-plus commitment to the complex.
