Roadside Submits Plans For 80-Unit Shaw Project

While Roadside Development faces public pressure on its Grimke School redevelopment, it just submitted an 80-unit PUD six blocks away.

Partnering with Dantes Partners, Roadside plans to build a 98-foot-tall, mixed-use building at 1336 8th St NW, Urban Turf reports. The project is named the Residences at City Market, a reference to Roadside's well-received City Market at O mixed-use development nearby.

The plans for the 13k SF parcel include 1,240 SF for the Church of the Immaculate Conception and 6,470 SF of commercial uses, potentially restaurant space.

Six of the units would be in townhouses, separate from the main building. 24 of the units in the building would be designated as affordable. The DC government awarded Roadside and Dantes the project in 2014 after putting out an RFP. [UT]
