Congrats to Bernstein Management (that would be Josh Bernstein’s side of the family, cousins of Bernstein Cos’ Adam Bernstein, for those of you who need a scorecard). They’ve not only bought the Sky House West apartment building from JBG and Urban Atlantic (which had previously bought it from Vornado and Forest City, which bought it from Bresler & Reiner), but are renaming it “Lex at Waterfront Station.” It’s 264 high-end studios and one- and two-bedrooms at 1151 Fourth St SW, in one of the tallest buildings in the quadrant—12 stories, 130 feet high, grandfathered in—and therefore features a rooftop deck with unobstructed views of the Capitol. Other amenities: an outdoor area with grills, not to mention proximity to Metro and Nats Park. Amazing it started life as an EPA office building.
