Lerner Planning Up to 360 Units Near Nationals Park

Lerner Enterprises has submitted a pre-hearing statement to the DC Office of Zoning for a new apartment building project near Nationals Park.

The project is slated for Lerner-owned property at 1000 South Capitol St SE, just three blocks north of Nationals Park, home of Lerner's Washington Nationals. Initial plans call for a 130-foot building that will include 300 to 360 units and three levels of underground parking, the Washington Business Journal reports. The building will feature angled bay windows, residential amenity space, a pool and a rooftop terrace. Shalom Baranes Associates was tasked with the building’s design.

The project is one of several planned for the area around Nationals Park. RCP and Crescent have submitted plans for a 558-unit apartment building at 2 Eye St SE, while a JV of Altus Realty and Ronald D. Paul Cos has plans for a 220k SF mixed-use development across from the ballpark that will include 250 apartments[WBJ]
