The latest apartment building to deliver in NoMa comes from a Swedish developer working with a Danish interior design firm that aimed to bring its Scandinavian style to the booming Northeast D.C. neighborhood.

Skanska this summer began welcoming residents to its 326-unit RESA NoMa project at 22 M St. NE, the first apartment building in the D.C. area for the Stockholm-based developer. Skanska sold the building in June for $141M to Northwestern Mutual.

Bozzuto is managing the property, and the team brought the community in Thursday evening for a grand opening celebration to see the building's interiors and amenities.

The architect on the project was Design Collective, and the interior design firm was Denmark-based Space Copenhagen.

The team said it focused the building's design around the Swedish concept of "lagom," meaning "just right." The building utilized neutral colors, organic materials, modern finishes and maximized natural light to fit in with that style.

"Peaceful, balanced, beautiful yet functional — these are not terms that are typically used to describe residences and lifestyles in a city as busy as D.C.," Bozzuto Regional Vice President Lisa Bryan said in a release. "These are terms, however, that are used to describe lagom design. We are proud to bring this coveted style to D.C. and introduce residents to a new standard of living."

The building features apartments ranging from studios to two-bedroom units that rent from $1,855/month to $4,051/month.

All units feature solid core white oak doors with key-fob entry, hard plank flooring, designer kitchens, washer and dryers, USB charging ports and Elfa closet systems. Some of the apartments offer walk-in closets, kitchen islands, floor-to-ceiling windows and glass showers.

The amenities include a fitness center, a pet spa, a business center with a conference room and an interior courtyard on the second floor with bar grill areas, seating and a fireplace. The rooftop features an indoor penthouse lounge with a catering kitchen, an outdoor terrace with seating areas, grills, televisions and a heated pool.

The building also offers a 24-hour concierge, housekeeping and maintenance staff, common area WiFi access, a daily coffee bar, dry cleaning services and a garage with resident parking, electric car charging stations and bike storage.

RESA NoMa sits directly adjacent to the 2M apartment building that WC Smith completed in 2014, and the two buildings' interior courtyards are connected.

The ground-floor retail space at RESA NoMa will feature King Street Oyster Bar, its third location and first location outside of Virginia. It is the latest in a series of new dining options NoMa has welcomed over the last year as the neighborhood continues to add thousands of residents in new apartment buildings.

Across the street from RESA NoMa, grocery store and bar Streets Market opened in January in the Ava NoMa apartment building. One block east, Carving Room opened in July at Constitution Square. Red Bear Brewing opened in March in Uline Arena and The Eleanor opened last year in the Washington Gateway building.
