The Shakespeare Theatre Company has withdrawn its application for a 136-unit mixed-use high-rise due to community concerns.
STC plans to resubmit the application this fall after addressing the neighborhood's issues, Hill Rag reports.
The proposed 149k SF project known as The Bard, at 501 I St SW, angered Southwest residents because of its size and their concerns over a future impact on traffic.
Residents had been expressing concerns online for months that the proposal clashed with the Southwest Neighborhood Plan, which guides the area's development. [HR]
