Revised Renderings Are Out For Kettler’s Market Terminal

New renderings are out for Kettler’s 1.2M SF development project near Union Market.

Revisions to the initial renderings of Market Terminal from R2L Architects were the result of meetings with the local advisory neighborhood commission, Planning and the DOT. The main changes appear to be cosmetic, with the exception of a change to the size of residential balconies.

Overall plans remain the same and call for two residential buildings with 571 units and 30k SF of retail plus a 10-story, 212k SF office building with 14,500 SF of retail in the project’s first phase, according to the Washington Business Journal. Phase 2 details for the project at 300 and 350 Morse St NE have yet to be decided, but are expected to combine hotel, office, residential and retail.

Kettler has also committed to some community benefits for the project, as per requirements of any PUD application. Benefits include temporary event and market space, lobby transit information and a 1,500 SF maker space for local small businesses. The company will also contribute $20k to the NoMa call box project along the Metropolitan Branch Trail.

Kettler is leading the redevelopment efforts at the five-acre site on behalf of other property owners, including Douglas Development, and submitted the initial plans for Market Terminal back in November. [WBJ]
