Sean Cahill, the former Property Group Partners executive who led the Capitol Crossing development, is now taking on a new project.

After resigning from PGP in October, Cahill was tapped by the Morris and Gwendolyn Cafritz Foundation to oversee Phase 2 of its Art Place development in Fort Totten, the Washington Business Journal reports.

Cafritz retained Cahill's new company, SCahill LLC, to serve as development manager for the project. Phase 2 of the Art Place development is set to break ground in the coming weeks, the WBJ reported.

The first phase of the 2M SF development opened in 2017 with 520 apartments, branded as Modern at Art Place, and ground-floor retail. It sits at the intersection of South Dakota Avenue NE and Galloway Street, less than a quarter-mile from the Fort Totten station, where three Metro lines intersect.

The developer last year signed Aldi to open a 25K SF grocery store in the project's second phase. The phase is also planned to include an art exhibition from Meow Wolf, up to 250 apartments, 30 live-work units for artists, 87K SF of restaurants and a food hall.

Cahill began working at PGP, previously called the Louis Dreyfus Property Group, in 2003. He spearheaded the development of Capitol Crossing, PGP's $1.3B megaproject that has delivered two office buildings atop Interstate 395 with more in the works.
