The Murillo Malnati Group is planning for a Bonstra Haresign-designed six-story, 20-unit residential development with 1,488 SF of street-level retail, on the site of Latney's Funeral Home at 3831 Georgia Ave. MMG is hoping the site's abnormal shape will allow for an exception to off-street parking requirements. Documents filed with the BZA cite small land area, sloping topography and a corner lot location as conditions that hinder the ability to provide more than two on-site parking spaces, UrbanTurf report. Normally, zoning requirements would mandate 10 parking spaces. The documents also state that because of the site's size and dimensions, underground parking isn't possible. [UT]
