Fans of DC's craft beer scene have reason to celebrate this Friday afternoon.

Local brewing company DC Brau plans to triple its brewing capacity after buying a new 14k SF space next to its current brewery, the Washington Business Journal reports.

DC Brau bought the space formerly occupied by the Central Mission Food Bank next to its 3178 Bladensburg Road NE facility, above, on Nov. 1.

The brewer, which currently has a 15-barrel brewing system, plans to add a 30-barrel system in the new space. With this addition, DC Brau hopes to expand its production by more than 360% in the next eight to 10 years from its current output of 15,300 barrels a year.

This will allow it to brew more Penn Quarter Porters, Public Pale Ales and the Citizen IPA, its flagship beers, and experiment with one-time specialty brews, like its heralded On The Wings Of Armageddon Imperial IPA. [WBJ]
