Kudos to Lowe Enterprises' Mark Rivers, who's been promoted to SVP and managing director of the firm's DC office. Mark filled us in on two of Lowe's big DC projects: 1400 Crystal Drive in Crystal City, an office building the GSA vacated in 2011, which they're renovating with Class-A finishes. Mark says the building (which will deliver in June) will be in demand due to its new high-quality glass curtain walls and rents 20% less than in the R-B Corridor. Also on tap: 11141 Georgia Ave in Wheaton, an office building Lowe is converting into a 195-unit apartment complex. Mark says Lowe is adding seven floors on top of the old building, which is only 100 yards from the Wheaton Metro.
