Metrus Properties has finalized a $100M agreement to purchase and leaseback Sears Canada’s 960k SF national distribution centre at 9501 Highway 50 in Vaughan. The deal is the largest yet in Sears Canada’s sale of its non-core properties, and the company's executive chair, Brandon Stranzl, noted Sears Canada is taking a "proactive approach" to its real estate strategy as it seeks to improve its balance sheet and re-establish itself as a major retailer in a changing marketplace.
